UFO Sighting – Bondad, Colorado – 24th July 2007 – Bright Light Buzzes Truck

UFO Sighting – Bondad, Colorado – 24th July 2007 – Bright Light Buzzes Truck

After a recent post in our UFO Forum I have been corresponding with the witness but this has slowed down lately, so I’m going to post this in the hopes that someone has had, or knows of someone who has had a similar experience.

Date Of sighting 24th July 2007
Date Reported 25th July 2007

I need advice, really. I found this site through google, and I am hoping you all are serious about this UFO topic. I'm not sure I am in the right forum at this site, if not I'm sorry.

OK here is the deal, I commute between Aztec New Mexico and Durango Colorado. Last night I was coming home (from Durango toward Aztec), through a small nothing town called Bondad in Colorado, and there was something - that I have no explanation for. I drive a big Dodge 2500 Diesel truck, this truck is not affected by much. Something was off to the left in my field of view, right over top of a bluff, it was kind of bright, I thought at first it was maybe a bright light on top of an oil or gas rig. But suddenly it just shot backwards out of my sight, way too fast to be a plane, I mean it SHOT back out of sight, as in there one second, and gone the next, no way was this a plane.

So then I slowed down, quite a lot because I was a bit freaked out. I was slowing down from about 60 down to about 35, thinking what the hell was that thing.

About 10-seconds or so later I saw a bright light in my drivers side rear view mirror, almost looked like high-beams or something. I slowed down a bit more and then whatever that light was, shot right over my truck - so fast that the truck literally almost bounced - and like I said, nothing much can do that to a big 2500 truck, the thing shot over - super bright, it went over so fast that the truck felt like it went through a huge ditch (and there are no ditches on that road), it pushed my truck straight down - I assume wind pressure?? This thing went right over top, blinded me a bit and then it was WAY out in the sky, as in it went from being really close to being a small blip - and then it was gone - MAYBE 2 or 3 seconds went by. Way too fast to be anything man made as far as I know, and I spent 8-years in the Marines out in 29 Palms working with air to ground communications - I was one of those guys who told military jets where to drop ammo (I was a forward observer who called rounds down range) - trust me I have been around plenty of jets and this was NOT a jet - THERE WAS NO NOISE.

So I am really, confused and freaked out. I never took this UFO thing seriously - until now.

I was not able to determine any shape, the light was really way too bright.

All I know is this - it was fast and bright and it shook my truck. If I had to guess at how close this thing was to my truck, I would have to say about 100-yards or so up off the ground, it wasn't super close to me BUT it sure felt like it was. I checked my truck, no marks or anything like that (I was thinking maybe it had left a heat residual or something). I even smelled my truck to see if I could smell anything, maybe like a fuel smell, but there was no odor either. There were no other vehicles in sight at that time, as far as I know I was pretty much alone, no one in front coming toward and no one behind me.

SO I am left confused, and wondering - maybe this UFO thing is real. Maybe you folks can believe in this sort of thing easily - but I couldn't - not without proof, and I would now have to say - that's proof enough for me. Any ideas or similar experiences?? Sorry but I had no camera and even if I did have one there was no way I could have gotten any images of it - way too fast...

Last I knew, earth had an atmosphere, and anything ripping through that atmosphere made a considerable amount of noise, right?? There was no noise at all, I am telling you my windows were down and I would have heard something - but there was no noise and this is what puzzles me the most.

So any feedback would be great, any ideas, any explanations, I'm just mystified at this point.

My first response

Hi Durango and welcome to the forums, I would like to thank you for posting your account here. The reason I didn’t reply straight away is I sent you an email regarding your experience, but I felt that I should still reply to you post as you may not regularly check your emails.

Firstly while it is perfectly understandable for you to be freaked out, I really do appreciate your concerns but feel that I must stress that you shouldn’t fret or worry about your UFO sighting.

If you’ve came to this forum looking for a definitive answer as to what you’ve seen then I’m afraid you may be disappointed. These lights in the sky have been spotted by thousands and thousands of people over many, many years.

However. being, “Buzzed” by a UFO is a rare occurrence as the sightings are usually just limited to the lights in the sky. They are also mostly not accompanied by an audible craft noise or are too far away to discern this, and for a UFO to cause a sonic boom is unheard of.

In the Durango area, a UFO was spotted in October 2003 by a sound engineer. This made the news and was even reported in the Durango Herald. While this sighting was a different shaped UFO to the one you witnessed, and it certainly wasn’t as distressing as your experience. I feel it merits a mention due to the characteristics of propulsion; the witness is quoted as saying,

"It wasn't thermalling and didn't make a sound…….There was no heat distortion behind the end. I thought it had to be a military drone at one point but there was no contrail, no propulsion.”

I am not attempting to detract in any way from your personal UFO sighting, but I’m hoping I can allay your fears as you sounded a little upset in your original post.

And more recently in Colorado (2007-02-28) there is this report at the MUFON website which is certainly relevant to your sighting,

“I was driving in a van with my dad then all of a sudden a really bright star like not to high above maybe like 100 ft. and it beamed through the sky soo fast, nothing we humans have made can go that fast,me and my dad were shocked!I lost sight of the object because it was moving to fast.”

Finally, as recently as the 27th of June 2007 a witness reported a similar UFO in Colorado, the witness says that they, “Watched a very small light traveling fast south to north extreme altitude no blinking discernible, suddenly brighten then fade.”

I know this in no way goes towards answering any of your questions, but hopefully it does prove that you are not alone in your experience and hopefully may offer a little solace.

From your post,

"from Durango toward Aztec....Something was off to the left in my field of view.....shot backwards out of my sight....bright light in my drivers side rear view mirror......shot right over my truck....WAY out in the sky"

Does this mean when it shot over you and way out in the sky that it was travelling from North to South?

What kind of degree did the object rise at i.e. was it a sharp climb or a more gradual climb?

What colour (if any) was the light?

Personally I certainly believe that UFO’s exist and as such it is a phenomenon that demands more research. Regarding the craft ripping noiselessly through our atmosphere the theories as to the possible propulsion systems of UFO’s are many and varied.

Also, you may rest assured that you are certainly not the first person for whom the, “The proof of the pudding was in the eating!!”

So take care and I hope to hear from you soon.

There were a couple more posts in the forum thread HERE. If you know of a similar sighting then please either leave a comment so I can contact you, email me at, or post a comment in the forums thread, HERE. If you want to remain anonymous then please email me and discretion is guaranteed.

I don’t know if you’ve heard of, or visited It is ran by, “Sam Willey” and he also has a radio show based on the subject of UFO’s.

Sam has had some excellent guests lately such as B.J. Booth (webmaster of and the illustrious Stanton Friedman, UFOlogist extraordinaire!!

Sam was kind enough to ask Mr Stanton Friedman if he knew of any similar occurrences to the Durango sighting, to listen to the clip then it is directly below this text.

Close Encounters – Classification And Terminology Explained

Defining A "Close Encounter."

With regards to UFO's and UFOlogy, a Close Encounter simply means to witness an Unidentified Flying Object (UFO).

Well, it seems as with everything in the world of UFOlogy that there are conflicting points of view regarding, “Close Encounters.” The, “Old school” train of thought relies wholly on Hynek's interpretation and recognises only the original three types of, “Close Encounter.” While some recognise these as well as a Close Encounter of the fourth, fifth and sixth kind, with some recognizing all 6 along with the sub-types.

The original terminology and the system used to qualify and classify these encounters was first proposed and introduced by UFO researcher and astronomer, “J. Allen Hynek.” It was in contained in his book, “The UFO Experience : A Scientific Study,” which was originally released way back in 1972.

It's also worth noting that UFO sightings more than 500 feet from the witness are classified as "Daylight Discs", "Nocturnal Lights" or "Radar/Visual Reports". Sightings within about 500 feet are sub-classified as various types of "close encounter."

Close Encounter Of The First Kind: Aerial objects that are not attributable to human technology and/or a sighting of one or more unidentified flying objects; these include flying saucers, orbs, balls of light, cylinders etc.

Close Encounter Of The Second Kind: An observation of a UFO and associated physical effects from the UFO. 3-D physical tracings, or remnants, of something apparently not of this world/dimension , it would appear that Crop Circles would fall into this category, BUT only if the crop circle is found in the vicinity of a UFO sighting.

Also included in a Close Encounter of the Second kind is any damage to the terrain, interference to televisions, radios and internal combustion engines, frightened or panicked animals, heat, radiation, human paralysis etc.

Close Encounter Of The Third Kind: The Third kind is when you not only encounter a UFO, but when you can also see the entities inside the UFO.

Hynek was very careful to label this encounter as one which observed, “Animate beings,” within the UFO, note how he doesn't reference aliens or extraterrestrial, this was in conjunction with his own beliefs, and he further states that they are included because Hynek felt a scientific obligation to include them, due solely to the amount of reports of this type of UFO encounter rather than because of a personal belief.

Close Encounter Of The Third Kind - The Bloecher Subtypes: UFO researcher Ted Bloecher, proposed a further seven subtypes for the Close Encounters of the Third kind in direct relation to/and for inclusion in the Hynek's scale.
  • A: An entity is observed only inside the UFO
  • B: An entity is observed inside and outside the UFO
  • C: An entity is observed near to a UFO, but not going in or out.
  • D: An entity is observed. No UFOs are seen by the observer, but UFO activity has been reported in the area at about the same time
  • E: An entity is observed. But no UFOs are seen and no UFO activity has been reported in the area at that time
  • F: No entity or UFOs are observed, but the subject experiences some kind of “intelligent communication”
  • G: Abduction (same as close encounter of fourth kind)

Subtypes D, E, and F may be unrelated with the UFO phenomenon.

Close Encounter Of The Fourth Kind: Abductees (BUT not contactees) so a Close Encounter Of The Fourth Kind is when a human is abducted by a UFO or its occupants.

Close Encounter Of The Fifth Kind: This one was introduced and named by Steven M. Greer's CSETI group. This is the category under which most contactees fall, if you initiate contact, contact does indeed happen, (of any of the previously mentioned first to fourth kinds) this is an encounter of the fifth kind, i.e. b ilateral contact events produced through the conscious, voluntary and proactive human-initiated or cooperative communication with Extraterrestrial intelligence.

Close Encounter Of The Sixth Kind: Direct injury and or death as of a result of encounter with a U.F.O, extraterrestrials or abduction by E.T's.

YouTube - Haiti UFO And The Dominican Republic UFO - YouTube UFO Hoax - Faked?

Haiti And The Dominican Republic - YouTube UFO Hoax - Faked?
To discuss this video and it's conclusions further, please visit our, “ Haiti And Dominican Republic Faked UFO” thread in our UFO Forums.
Hoax Or Not?!?

Have a look and judge for yourself....

These are just one or two of a great many things that bother me regarding the authenticity of this video, I intend to cover these in the update.

Haiti UFO And The Dominican Republic UFO

YouTube UFO Hoax - Faked

(You may just want to skip to the bottom as it's already undoubtedly a HOAX)

Well, this post has been promised for a couple of days or so now, so here goes……….

I still stand by my statement that a couple of the palm trees which are prominent in the Haiti & Dominican Republic UFO videos are not just similar, but that they are identical. It seems that a great many people were very quick to point out that palms of a certain genus always appear similar but I feel this truly is a case of, “Not being able to see the wood for the trees.”

Have a look at the two stills below, the top one is from the Haiti UFO clip, and the bottom one is from the Dominican Republic UFO clip.

Here we have exactly the same image comparison with the brightness levels adjusted so the difference in colour doesn't detract from what you are looking at

Similar, or identical enough for the differences to be negligible?

Also, remember that if my assumptions are correct then this image would differ very slightly depending on the point of view of the camera (in the 3d world), coupled with the fact that the software used boasts real-time, “Wind effects.” So, for all these images may not be absolutely 100% identical, I challenge anybody anywhere to find me an image (that is not a CGI) to match this distinctive pattern, especially as they are allegedly so common throughout the palm tree world!!

And please feel free to email me with any evidence. Although after saying that I am pretty sure that anyone who can't see the obvious similarities between these two images won't have read this far anyway!! But the actual structure of the trees is identical; we're not talking about the odd leaf here, but the trunk as well.

I didn't want my video to turn into a marketing video for Vue-6. But it seems that unless I draw the (obvious?) parallels then people persistently think I'm, “Debunking” just for the sheer hell of it!!

So………………….. VUE6

And now onto the fabled VUE6, for those who are not aware of VUE6 and its capabilities,. VUE6 is a piece of software which pretty much allows you to create complete virtual worlds.

So can many others, BUT, do any of the others have a small demonstration video available that appears to show the setting of the recent Haiti & Dominican Republic UFO?

And even better, does any other software have a promotional video that shows what would appear to be one of the palm trees visible in the Haiti & Dominican Republic UFO?

Again have a look at the images below.

Vue6 Palm on the left & Dominican Republic Palm on the left.

And, original format with Vue6 Palm being on the right.

ATS : ProjectDreamland on the ATS Haiti UFO thread found what would appear to be a pefect match for the gasp that you can hear in the Dominican Republic gasp. The file was found and can be listened to HERE.

I was more than intrigued at how this .aiff file was located so quickly (but I'll save that theory for another time.)

Also, while I've been writing this, another video has been posted on YouTube, well, just have a look.

Haiti & Dominican Republic UFO's = Hoax!!

Anybody want to buy a Flying Saucer!? (View Video And Pictures!!)

Anybody want to buy a Flying Saucer!?

Sign of the times? Nobody can deny that, "The times" certainly are changing.

A company called Moller International are putting the finishing touches on a product that’s been thirty years in the making!!

Moller International M200

Just check out the specs!!

  • M200 Volantor Performance Specifications
  • Max speed 100 mph
  • Cruise speed 75 mph
  • Range 100 miles
  • Payload 250 lbs
  • Size (Diameter x Height) 10’ x 3’
  • Fuel Ethanol/Gasoline
  • The M200G Volantor

The following is from the product brochure for one, “M200G.”

The Moller Volantor
Over the past 30+ years Moller International and its predecessor companies have been working on the development of the technologies required for a new class of vehicles called volantors.1 The M200G will be the first of these vehicles, a vertical take off & landing (VTOL) fast, low-cost personal recreational vehicle.

The multipurpose M200G can operate up to 10 feet above any surface: land, water, sand, snow, swamp or grasslands. It can be used like other recreational vehicles, combining the capabilities of a boat, hovercraft, ATV, snowmobile or other off-road vehicle. It also has the hover and vertical take off and landing capabilities of a helicopter and the ability to leap over barriers and other obstacles. Its ducted fans provide lift and propulsion without the dangerous exposed rotor blades and high maintenance costs of rotary-winged aircraft. The vehicle uses state-of-the-art fly-by-wire computer technology to monitor, control and maintain stability of the vehicle, while simultaneously making it simple and easy to operate.

The M200G is estimated to be available in 2008

(Volantor—A vertical takeoff and landing aircraft that is
capable of flying in a quick, nimble and agile manner.)

Projected Performance
The M200G’s performance is similar to that of a light helicopter, but is safer and potentially less expensive. The vehicle operates within ten feet above ground level. This limitation is imposed by the vehicle’s on-board computer systems to ensure that it does not enter regulated airspace, and thereby eliminates the requirement for extensive governmental oversight for either the construction or operation of the vehicle.

Federal Aviation Authority (FAA) regulations
The M200G may functionally be thought of as a powered-lift aircraft, although it is constrained by its computerized control system to operate in close proximity to the ground. Vehicles operating within this zone are considered “ground effect” vehicles and are not subject to existing Federal

Aviation Authority (FAA) regulations.
The M200G uses multiple thrust-generating ducted fans; each ducted fan is enclosed in a housing and provides thrust under the control of an independent flight control computer.

This arrangement ensures that each fan will be available to provide stability and control during flight, and in the event that a controller, fan or engine fails, the others will maintain the vehicle’s attitude until the M200G can be safely landed.

Sensors that measure angular rate, angular acceleration and attitude are used to determine the precise position and motion of the volantor in relation to the desires of the operator. This sensor information is used to electronically maintain stability and control by automatically adjusting power levels of each engine to decrease or increase local thrust as required.

Moveable vanes mounted under the ducts in a patented configuration deflect the thrust to control the direction of travel: vertical, horizontal, banking, turns, etc. –no ailerons, flaps, nor elevators are needed—the speed of each engine determines the local, instantaneous thrust level while the vanes provide the local, less time-sensitive thrust direction.

A volantor is not operated like traditional fixed or rotary wing aircraft. It has only two hand-operated controls that the operator uses to direct the redundant computer controlled system to carry out his or her desired manoeuvres.

The left hand control twists to select desired operating altitude and moves fore and aft to select rate of climb and descent. The right hand control twists to select direction and moves side to side to provide traverse movement during hover and early transition. This same control moves fore and aft to determine speed and braking.

Stratford UFO sightings brings town to a standstill

UFO sightings bring town to a standstill

Originally Posted on the Daily Mail Website

A crowd of 100 stunned stargazers brought a town centre to a standstill when five mysterious UFOs were spotted hovering in the sky.
Drinkers spilled out of pubs, motorists stopped to gawp and camera phones were aimed upwards as the five orbs, in a seeming formation, hovered above Stratford-Upon-Avon for half an hour.

The unidentified flying objects lit up the otherwise clear night sky above Shakespeare's birthplace in Warwickshire on Saturday. Although Air Traffic Control reported no unusual activity, some witnesses were convinced they were witnessing an extra-terrestrial spectacle.

Crowds gathered to gawp at the strange lights that hovered silently over Stratford for 30 minutes. The strange episode started just after 10.30pm, when the lights were seen hovering slowly over the town before three of them formed a triangular shape with one positioned just to the right.

A few minutes later a fifth came into view travelling towards the others at breakneck speed before slowing down and stopping a short distance away. Sceptics dismissed the UFOs as nothing more than hot air balloons, fireworks or even lanterns which had broken loose from a local rugby club.

Others, however, claimed the speed and agility of the objects was unlike any known aircraft and said the odd movement, lack of noise and the length of time in the air discounted any man-made explanation.

Tom Hawkes, who captured these amazing images, spotted the lights during his girlfriend Kate Lyall's birthday at the One Elm pub.

He and the 15 other revellers were in the bar when they spotted some commotion outside. Tom, 30, said: "We walked outside and there was at that time a growing crowd of about 60 people looking up at something in the sky.

"I saw this light appear, then three others. They came over our heads in formation but then manouvered into different positions.

"Three had formed a triangular shape and one was to the right. Then another one came hurtling towards the rest at what looked like a very fast speed. But as it neared them it suddenly slowed and stopped altogether.

"By this time more people had poured out onto the street. Two pubs had emptied, some people had come out of their houses and drivers slowed their cars. Were flying saucers like this one hovering over Stratford under the cover of darkness?

"The objects were there for about half an hour. It was very eerie because they didn't make any sound and they stayed still before moving slowly beyond the horizon. There were no stars in the sky, just them.

"It was the most extraordinary thing I've ever seen and the way in which everyone gathered in the street to watch them reminded me of a scene from Independence Day." The extraordinary scenes were also witnessed by some of the staff of the One Elm pub.

Chef Kern Griffiths, 26, said: "I saw five lights, we all thought they were hot air balloons at first because the glowing spheres looked like a burst of flames. But I couldn't see any outline of the balloon itself and they were travelling far too fast. "Suddenly someone shouted 'look' and there were these bright dots fizzing across the sky. "It was weird, they way they moved did look alien. Some people reckon they're fireworks but they were lit up in the sky for far too long, the local rugby club say they were lanterns that blew loose over the weekend but these objects were far too fast and too high up.

"They were unlike any aircraft I've seen. It's a mystery." Hillary Potter from The British Earth Aerial Mystery Society (BEAMS) said they were being inundated with similar calls from across the country but said it was rare for such phenomena to be witnessed by so many people.

She said: "Such incidents have been on the increase recently. There are reports at the moment coming in from all over the country. "We've had many reports of people seeing quite large unidentified objects in the skies. It's not going away, It seems these incidents are becoming more bold. "People don't know what to do when they witness such sights and that's what we're here for. We take the reports very seriously."

A Mod Spokesman said: "The MoD does not have any expertise or role in respect of UFOs or flying saucer matters or to the question of the existence of extra terrestrial life forms, about which we remain totally open minded. "I should add that to date the MoD knows of no evidence which substantiates the existence of these alleged phenomena. The MoD examines any reports of unidentified flying objects it receives solely to establish whether what was seen might have some defence significance.

"Namely whether there is any evidence that the UK air space might have been compromised by hostile or unauthorised foreign military activity. "Unless there is evidence of a potential threat to the United Kingdom from an external military source, and to date no UFO report has revealed such evidence, we do not attempt to identify the precise nature of each sighting reported to us.

"We believe that rational explanations such as aircraft lights or natural phenomena could be found for them if resources were diverted for this purpose but its not the function of the MoD to provide this kind of aerial identification service." Frankie Spray, from Wellesbourne Airfield, just outside Stratford, added: "The lights were nothing to do with us. None of our aircraft fly at night at this time of year.

"It's very bizarre but I've got no explanation as to what the lights were." Birmingham Air Space which covers the skies over the town said they had not heard of any unusual activity showing up on the radar.”

The Daily Mail also have an, “Exclusive” video clip of the incident linked from the original article.

And here is a widely circulated, "Free" Newspaper article on the UFO’s.
